#Indore Madhya Pradesh : Prohibitory orders were imposed in Barwani district on Monday night following communal clashes on the eve of Muharram, the first month of Islamic calender in which Muslims observe the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, grandson of prophet Muhammed.
According to a report, Firecrackers were hurled at a religious procession in the sensitive locality of Pala Bazar followed by stone pelting between two groups ahead of Muharram.
Around 4-5 persons were injured, including city SP Tilak Singh in the stone pelting.
Section 144 of CrPc has been imposed in the affected Pala Bazar area, said Tilak Singh.
At least half a dozen vehicles were set ablaze by the angry mobs in the violence.
“Heavy police force has been deployed in the concerned locality following the communal clashes and situation is now under control,” said IG Indore Vipin Maheshwari.
