अगर कोई और नेता बीजेपी में इस तरह की अनर्गल बात कहता तो इतनी बात नहीं होती, लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि अहमद पटेल को पाकिस्तानी लोग मुख्यमंत्री बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं.
मतलब इरादा साफ़ तौर पर हिंदू-मुस्लिम में धुव्रीकरण कराने का था. मोदी का बयान थोड़ा सा ग़ैर-ज़िम्मेदाराना था जो कि आने वाले दिनों की राजनीति के लिए अच्छा आगाज़ नहीं है.
लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की पॉलिटिक्स साफ़ तौर पर ये है कि देश को कैसे आगे बढ़ाना है, किस दिशा में बढ़ाना है. और वह सोचते हैं कि यह तभी संभव होगा जब वह चुनाव जीतेंगे. इसलिए चुनाव जीतने के लिए वो कुछ भी कर सकते हैं.
हालांकि चुनाव जीतने के लिए लोगों का अलग-अलग मत हो सकता है. कुछ लोगों का मत होगा कि प्रधानमंत्री को थोड़ी गरिमा बनाकर रखनी चाहिए.

ईवीएम से छेड़छाड़ वाली बातों को स्वीकार करना कठिन है. पुराने ज़माने में भी जब वोट पड़ते थे तो कई इलाकों में बूथ कैप्चरिंग हो जाती थी.
इससे उन इलाकों में बूथ पर वोट एक तरह से प्रभावित होता था लेकिन फिर भी चुनावी नतीजे प्रभावित नहीं होते थे.
मतलब कोई भी चुनाव ऐसा नहीं हुआ कि बीजेपी रिगिंग से जीती है या अस्सी के दशक में इंदिरा गांधी रिगिंग से वापस आईं.
छोटी-मोटी गड़बड़ी जानबूझकर या ग़लती से होती रही हैं और होती रहेगी. लेकिन भारतीय लोकतंत्र की ये खास बात है कि जो नतीजा आता है, वो जनता की सोच का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है.

निर्दलीय के तौर पर चुनाव लड़ने वाले जिग्नेश मेवाणी को लेकर लोगों का मानना है कि वह वामपंथियों के साथ मिल जाएंगे तो कांग्रेस को छोड़ देंगे. अब वामपंथी क्या करेंगे, कांग्रेस के साथ रहेंगे या नहीं रहेंगे, ये देखने की बात है.
अल्पेश ठाकोर कांग्रेस के टिकट पर जीते हैं, वह कांग्रेस के साथ रहेंगे. हार्दिक पटेल के साथ बड़ी मुश्किल होगी. कांग्रेस के लिए शायद चुनाव हारना और एक अच्छा विपक्ष बनना बेहतर नतीजा है क्योंकि अगर वो जीत जाते तो 90-92 या 95 सीट लाकर सरकार कैसे चलाते? पटेलों के साथ जो वादा किया था वो पूरा कैसे करते?
उनकी स्थिति बहुत ही अटपटी होती. इससे बेहतर यह है कि कांग्रेस मज़बूत विपक्ष की तरह उभरे और उसका अगला लक्ष्य वापस सत्ता में आना नहीं हो सकता.
इस चुनाव के नतीजे बताते हैं कि वह मज़बूत विपक्ष की ओर बढ़ रहा है और जो एकछत्र राज मोदी और बीजेपी का था उसमें कुछ कमी होगी. यह लोकतंत्र के लिए अच्छा होगा.
